Alfa Romeo bringing lesser Giulia versions to Geneva

Alfa Romeo will finally reveal the mainstream versions of the Giulia model at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, a new report indicates.

 

It was June 2015 when Alfa showed the range-topping Giulia QV for the first time and now we have the information that the Italian company is planning a debut for the long-delayed mainstream versions of the car. This will happen during the Geneva show that opens its doors for visitors on March 3.

 

Automotive News Europe is reporting the company will introduce the 2.0 turbo petrol and 2.2 diesel variants of the car. The first one will be offered in three power stages – 180 horsepower, 250 hp, and 330 hp. The diesel Giulia will likely be available exclusively in Europe with 135 hp, 180 hp, and 210 hp.

 

Shortly after the auto show in Switzerland, Alfa Romeo will start production of the Giulia in its Cassino plant near Rome, Italy, starting on March 14. US sales will kick off in the third quarter of the year, while the first cars will reach Italian dealerships of the brand in late May. The 2.0 turbo petrol versions will be available across Europe by the end of the year.
