2017 Nissan Titan unveiled, will go on sale this summer

Nissan has used the Chicago Auto Show to release new details about the 2017 Titan.

 

Looking virtually identical to the Titan XD, the half-ton Titan will compete with Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Ford F-150, and Ram 1500. The truck will be offered with three different cab configurations - single cab, king cab, and crew cab - and three different bed lengths that measure 5.5-, 6.5-, and 8-feet long.

 

Despite the styling similarities, the Titan rides on a separate chassis and is noticeably smaller than the Titan XD. A quick comparison between the two reveals the Titan Crew Cab is 14.7 inches shorter than the Titan XD Crew Cab and has an 11.8 inch shorter wheelbase. 

 

Under the hood, two petrol engines will be available. Entry-level models will be powered by an undisclosed V6 engine, while higher-end variants can be equipped with a 5.6-liter V8 engine that develops 390 horsepower and 401 pound of torque.   The latter engine will be connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission which can be paired to an optional four-wheel drive system.

 

The 2017 Nissan Titan will go on sale this summer and additional information will be released closer to launch.
