BMW has officially unveiled the 2017 Alpina B7 xDrive.
Set to go on sale in the United States in September, the model is based on the 7 Series and features a sporty front fascia with an active shutter grille and a front lip spoiler. The car has also been equipped with a stainless steel sports exhaust system, a rear spoiler and 20-inch Alpina Classic wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Other highlights include a high-performance braking system with blue brake calipers and two exclusive exterior colors including Alpina Blue metallic and Alpina Green metallic.
The unique styling continues in the cabin as drivers will find Nappa leather seats, a leather-wrapped dashboard, and a sport steering wheel with blue and green contrast stitching. The car also has ceramic controls, illuminated door sill plates, and Piano Black or Myrtle Luxury Wood trim. Rounding out the changes are a revised digital instrument cluster and additional standard equipment including a head-up display and a rearview camera.
Power is provided by an upgraded biturbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. It is connected to a specially-tuned eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds before hitting an estimated top speed of 193 mph.
Speaking of performance, the BMW Alpina B7 xDrive has been outfitted with an air suspension, Dynamic Damper Control, an Active Roll Stabilization system, and an Integral Active Steering system.
