起亚Rio微型车即将进化到第四代，现在谍照记者首次拍到了正在进行冬季测试的车型。从更长的后车门和更宽的车窗判断，新一代Rio将采用完全不同的设计。前大灯群也完全改变了，大面积向后倾斜的车顶也不见了。车尾外观也有所改变，值得注意的是，尾门略微加宽，尾灯组更锐利。由于新车比上一代车型更大，因此内部空间，特别是后排乘客空间将更宽敞。现在断言车厢内将进行彻底改变还为时过早，但Rio车厢内的很多细节都将与姊妹车型现代i20共享。虽然上一代车型的三门和五门版看起来都差不多，但新一代车型的三门版将更突出运动特性，类似现代i20轿跑车。为了节约资金，下一代Rio的内部结构将与i20共享，因此两车的动力系统也将一样。预计将包括75/84马力1.2升汽油引擎和100马力1.4升引擎。另外还将搭载取自cee’d GT Line的1.0升三缸涡轮增压引擎，在cee’d GT Line上的功率为100/120马力。而在柴油引擎方面，将包括75马力1.1升和90马力1.4升CRDi引擎，根据不同的引擎，可搭配手动或自动变速器。预计第四代Rio将在10月开幕的巴黎车展发布，随后将于年底上市。

 

2017 Kia Rio makes spy photo debut

The Kia Rio supermini is getting ready to make the transition towards a fourth generation that has now been captured on camera for the first time in prototype guise.

 

Spied while undergoing winter testing, the all-new Rio seems to adopt an entirely different design and it also appears to be bigger judging by the longer rear doors featuring a wider glass. The headlight clusters are completely changed and don’t seem to have the same sweptback design as on the outgoing model. The back of the car is also going through cosmetic surgery and we notice the tailgate is slightly wider and the taillights are sharper.

 

Taking into account it will be bigger than its predecessor, it’s safe to assume the 2017 Kia Rio will be more spacious inside, especially for passengers sitting in the back. It’s too early to say whether the cabin will go through extensive changes, but chances are many of the bits and pieces will be sourced from sister model Hyundai i20.

 

While the outgoing Rio looks pretty much the same in three- and five-door guises, hopefully the new three-door model will become substantially sportier in the same vein as the attractive Hyundai i20 Coupe.

 

In order to save money, the next Rio will use just about the same underpinnings as the i20, so it will have essentially the same engine lineup. As a consequence, expect a 1.2-liter gasoline unit with 75 & 84 horsepower and a punchier 1.4-liter with 100 hp. A turbocharged three-cylinder 1.0-liter will likely be borrowed from the cee’d GT Line where it’s available with 100 & 120 hp.

 

On the diesel side there will be a 75-hp 1.1 CRDi and a 90-hp 1.4 CRDi. Depending on engine choice, both manual and automatic transmissions are going to be offered.

 

Expect the fourth-generation Kia Rio to be introduced in October during the Paris Motor Show and go on sale before the year’s end.
