2016 Alfa Romeo 4C and 4C Spider introduced with minor updates

Alfa Romeo has announced a series of changes to the 2016 4C and 4C Spider in the United States.

 

On the styling front, there isn't much to report as both models can now be equipped with a new Akrapovic titanium exhaust system. The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider also gains a new "carbon fiber halo" that highlights the car's carbon fiber monocoque chassis and carbon fiber windshield frame.

 

Bigger changes occur in the cabin as both the 4C and 4C Spider can be ordered with a new Carbon Fiber Trim Package that adds carbon fiber trim to the instrument panel, air vents, and shift bezels. Customers can also buy two-tone leather sport seats in Tobacco and Black.

 

Additional changes are limited but the 4C Coupe gains a lockable console and a newly standard Alpine audio system with Bluetooth/USB/iPod connectivity and a CD player. Both models also gain improved speakers, while the 4C Spider boasts an upgraded alarm system.

 

The car's turbocharged 1.75-liter four-cylinder engine carries over and continues to produce 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It is connected to a twin-clutch transmission which enables the models to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.1 seconds before hitting a top speed of 160 mph.

 

The 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C and 4C Spider are currently arriving at U.S. dealerships and pricing starts at $55,900 for the coupe and $65,900 for the roadster.
