Fiat Tipo bows in Dubai

Fiat has unveiled the new Tipo sedan at the Dubai International Motor Show.

 

Set to be sold in more than 40 countries in the EMEA region, the Tipo is essentially a renamed version of Turkey's Egea. As a result, it features a familiar design with an oval-shaped grille, sweptback headlights and a sculpted hood. The model also has prominent character lines, a short trunk and wraparound taillights. Overall, the car measures 4.54 meters long, 1.78 meters wide and 1.48 meters tall with a wheelbase that spans 2.64 meters.

 

Fiat didn't release interior photos but the five-seat cabin promises to have excellent ergonomics and best-in-class legroom. The car can also be equipped with an optional Uconnect infotainment system that has a five-inch display and Bluetooth / iPod / AUX connectivity. Other options include a TomTom navigation system and a rearview camera.

 

Under the hood, four different engines will be available. Choices are market dependent but include a 1.4-liter petrol with 95 PS (70 kW), a 1.6-liter petrol with 110 PS (80 kW), a 1.3-liter Multijet II turbodiesel with 95 PS (69 kW) and a 1.6-literMultijet II turbodiesel with 120 PS (88 kW).
