Kia has announced the 2016 Optima will be priced from $21,840 when it goes on sale in the United States.
Despite its affordable price tag, the Optima LX 2.4 is decently equipped as it features air conditioning, a tilt / telescopic steering column and 16-inch alloy wheels. The model also has cruise control, power windows / locks, Bluetooth connectivity and an infotainment system with a five-inch display. Power is provided by a 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder engine that develops 185 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque.
Moving up to the $23,990 Optima LX Turbo rewards buyers with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 178 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. That doesn't sound like much of an upgrade but it's more fuel-efficient than the standard model.
Buyers looking for something more luxurious can opt for the $24,890 Optima EX which features LED taillights and 17-inch alloy wheels. The model also gains leather seats, a heated steering wheel and a dual-zone automatic climate control system. There's also heated front seats, wood grain trim and a 12-way power driver seat.
If that's not impressive enough, the $29,690 Optima SX Turbo has sportier bumpers, revised side skirts and 18-inch alloy wheels. The car also features alloy pedals, metal hairline trim and an 8-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation. However, the biggest change is the use of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 245 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
Last but not least, the range-topping Optima SXL Turbo costs $35,790 and comes fully loaded with Premium Nappa leather seats, a panoramic sunroof and a Harman/Kardon QuantumLogic premium audio system. Other highlights include heated / ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and a power passenger seat. The model also boasts an assortment of safety systems including, Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert Autonomous Emergency Braking and Front Collision Warning - just to name a few.
