Nissan previews Teatro for Dayz concept ahead of Tokyo Motor Show premiere

Nissan has taken the wraps off the Teatro for Dayz concept set to be unveiled at the end of this month in Tokyo. 

 

As the name implies, Nissan's new concept is based on the Dayz kei car, but with a focus on the youngsters who will get their driving license in the next few years. These are known as "share natives" as they like to put their entire lives online and share everything on social media. For this reason, Nissan's designers have come up with a special interior packed with touchscreens that cover not just the instrument panel, but also the door trim and even the seats. To be fair, Nissan says the technology is not ready for this just yet, so the concept's interior actually projectors images onto those areas.

 

It's being billed as a visionary concept for these so-called share natives to create, play, communicate and share experiences in the digital area. As you would expect from a new concept, it employs an electric powertrain but details concerning the hardware are not available at this point. The design with the boxy tall-roofed body clearly shows that it's based on the Dayz, but with a more futuristic twist to match the high-tech interior.
