2016 Hyundai Sonata unveiled, gains new equipment & aluminum suspension components

Hyundai has taken the wraps off the 2016 Sonata.

 

Since the model was recently redesigned, this year's changes are relatively minor and include a more aggressive looking Limited variant that features restyled 17-inch alloy wheels and the front bumper from the Sport model.

 

Inside, the Sonata gains additional standard equipment including a 7-inch Display Audio system with a rearview camera and Android Auto compatibility. The Limited variant also gains a sunroof, while the Limited 2.0T boasts a newly standard heated steering wheel.

 

On the handling front, the 2016 Sonata adopts a number of aluminum suspension components to reduce weight and unsprung mass. These include the upper and lower control arms, the assist arms and the steering knuckle.

 

Last but not least, models equipped with Forward Collision Warning gain an Automatic Emergency Braking system.

 

The 2016 Sonata is currently arriving at dealerships and pricing starts at $21,750 (excluding an $835 freight charge).
