2016 Nissan Altima facelift revealed

Nissan has taken the wraps off the 2016 Altima.

 

Billed as a "major facelift," the 2016 Altima features a new front fascia with a V-Motion grille that is flanked by new boomerang-shape headlights. The model has new front fenders, a revised hood and optional LED daytime running lights. Out back, the changes are less noticeable but include a new rear bumper, a revised trunk and restyled taillights.

 

The Altima has also been equipped with several aerodynamic styling tweaks including an active grille shutter and underbody panels. Thanks to these modifications, the model's coefficient of drag has been improved by 10 percent to 0.26 Cd.

 

The interior largely carries over but the cabin gains reshaped Zero Gravity front seats, an improved steering wheel and a revised center stack. Other changes include updated door upholstery and a revised center console with new cup holders.

 

Under the hood, two engines will be available. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder produces up to 182 bhp (135 kW) and 180 lb-ft (243 Nm) of torque, while the 3.5-liter V6 develops 270 bhp (201 kW) and 251 lb-ft (340 Nm) of torque. Both are connected to an Xtronic continuously variable transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
