2016 Chevrolet Malibu pricing announced, undercuts the Accord & Camry

Chevrolet has announced the 2016 Malibu will be priced from $22,500 when it goes on sale in the Unites States later this year.

 

The entry-level Malibu L comes sparsely equipped but features air conditioning, power windows / locks and a six-speaker audio system. The model also has cruise control, a passive-entry system and a push-button ignition. Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops an estimated 160 bhp (119 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque.

 

Moving up the $23,995 Malibu LS will reward buyers with additional standard equipment including a rearview camera and a MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch display and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto compatibility.

 

The Malibu LT starts at $25,895 and features all the aforementioned equipment as well as LED daytime running lights and an eight-way power driver seat. A turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine is standard but an optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder develops an estimated 250 bhp (186 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque.

 

Last but not least, the range-topping Malibu Premier starts at $31,795 and features the aforementioned 2.0-liter engine. The model also has heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a MyLink infotainment system with a larger 8-inch display.
