BMW's future quad-turbo diesel unit could produce 395 PS

New details are starting to emerge about the upcoming quad-turbo diesel engine of BMW.

 

Expected to be introduced for the 750d next year, the engine will have a displacement of 3.0 liters and was expected to generate 408 PS (300 kW) and around 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. A new report indicates it will be able to produce a peak power of 395 PS.

 

The power will be channeled through an 8-speed automatic gearbox and an xDrive all-wheel drive system to all four wheels. The same engine will be offered for other 50d models in the future, but no details are available at the moment.
