2017 Mazda CX-9 spied virtually undisguised

YouTube's Carspotter Jeroen has spied the 2017 Mazda CX-9 virtually undisguised.

 

Caught undergoing testing in California, the lightly camouflaged prototype reveals the model will have a familiar front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by sweptback headlights. Moving further back, we can see stylish bodywork, a sloping roof and an upward sweeping shoulder line. The crossover also has a tailgate-mounted spoiler, a dual exhaust system and distinctive taillights.

 

Mazda hasn't had much to say about the model but previous reports have suggested it will feature a turbocharged 2.5-liter SkyActiv four-cylinder engine. While nothing is official, the engine is also expected to power a number of upcoming MazdaSpeed variants.
