BMW M2 to debut in October

The BMW M2 coupe will make its world premiere in October this year, according to a new report.

 

Citing unspecified sources, BMW Blog claims the high-performance model will be launched online in October. The first public appearance will likely take place during the LA Auto Show in November or at the 2016 NAIAS in early 2016.

 

Our source also says the teaser game for the vehicle will likely start in the coming weeks. The market launch is scheduled for March-April 2016.

 

At launch, the M2 will be offered with four colors - Long Beach Blue, Alpine White, Mineral Grey and Black Sapphire with the first one expected to be the official color of the show car.

 

From what we know about the sporty coupe so far, it will be powered by a 3.0-liter biturbo engine with around 370 PS (272 kW) and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft). The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint should take no longer than four and a half seconds and top speed will likely be electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

 

The starting price hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the model will reportedly start at 54,000 EUR.
