The 2016 Mercedes SL has been spied undergoing testing in the United States.

 

Looking slightly less awkward than its predecessor, the facelifted convertible has a new front fascia and a revised grille that is flanked by smaller headlights. The rear end largely carries over but we can see a modestly revised bumper, restyled tailpipes and updated taillights.

 

Engine options are slated to carryover so expect a variety of familiar options including everything from a twin-turbo V6 with 329 bhp (245 kW) to a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 with 621 bhp (463 kW).
