Lexus has unveiled the 2016 ES 350 and ES 300h in US-specification.

 

Looking sportier than its predecessor, the facelifted model has a new fascia with a revised grille that is flanked by standard LED headlights. Out back, there's a new rear bumper, L-shaped taillights and rectangular exhaust tips with a chrome finish. The model also has restyled wheels and a revised color palette that includes four new options: Autumn Shimmer, Nightfall Mica, Caviar and Eminent White Pearl.

 

Interior changes are fairly limited but include a new steering wheel, a revised shifter and additional soft-touch materials. Other highlights include 10-way power front seats, NuLuxe perforated upholstery, an automatic climate control system and a Display Audio system with either a seven- or eight-inch display.

 

Speaking of technology, the ES gains a new Lexus Safety System+ Package which has a Pre-Collision System, Intelligent High Beam headlights, High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist.

 

A 3.5-liter V6 engine resides under the hood and produces 268 bhp (199 kW). It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the front wheels.

 

Buyers looking for something a little more eco-friendly can opt for the ES 300h which features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine and an electric motor. It produces a combined maximum output of 200 bhp (149 kW) and enables the model to return 40 mpg city / 39 mpg highway / 40 mpg combined.
