Cadillac XT5 photographed undisguised in New York

The Cadillac XT5 has been caught on camera without any disguise in New York during a photo shoot ahead of an early 2016 launch.

 

Set to replace the SRX, the new compact crossover from Cadillac adopts the latest design language implemented on the Escalade and enables the XT5 to feature a more upmarket look with sharp headlights which seem to draw their inspiration from the upcoming CT6. The back of the car hosts sweptback taillights along with faux skid plating in the bumper which also has a pair of rectangular exhaust tips.

 

The Cadillac XT5 is believed to get a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 265 bhp (198 kW) along with a larger V6 3.6-liter normally aspirated motor pushing out approximately 335 bhp (250 kW). It will ride on the newly developed C1XX platform and will have a front-wheel drive as standard, but at an additional cost there's going to be an optional all-wheel drive setup while a hybrid version could also be in the works.
