Bugatti Chiron to have e-turbos and a torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system

New details are starting to emerge about the Bugatti Chiron.

 

According to Automobile Magazine, the supercar will be heavily influenced by the Veyron but "more than 90 percent of the parts will be new or altered" for use on the Chiron.

 

Power will reportedly be provided by an 8.0-liter W16 engine that has four-turbochargers. While this is the same setup as the Veyron, at least two of the turbochargers will be electrically powered. This will reportedly enable the model to produce an impressive 1,500 bhp (1118 kW). Thanks to the weight reductions and the extra oomph, the Chiron will should be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in a little over two seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 280 mph (450 km/h).

 

Little else is known about the car but the engine will reportedly be connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which sends power to the ground via a torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. The magazine also says we can expect a more accommodating cabin with better visibility and an improved driving position.

 

Bugatti hasn't had much to say about the car lately but it will reportedly be introduced sometime next year and cost approximately $2.4 (€2.1) million
