Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV facelift photographed undisguised

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has been caught on camera completely undisguised in Japan.

 

Previewed by the Outlander PHEV Concept-S, the vehicle comes with only minor changes compared to the refreshed Outlander. These include body colored lower diffusers for the front and rear bumpers, new wheels and new chrome trim for the rear bumper. The low-res photos also reveal what appear to be new side skirts for the model.

 

The current hybrid version of the SUV is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol unit, supported by two electric motors. The total range stands at 547 miles (880 km), while the car can run on purely electric energy for 34 miles (55 km).

 

The Japanese company will likely introduce some improvements for the hybrid system but no details are available at the moment.
