大众美国公司近日发布了2016款捷达GLI,新车有多项升级。大众形容这款车为“堪比高尔夫GTI的轿车”。在外观上，新车前脸略微升级，采用了蜂巢格栅和改款雾灯。车尾配备改款后保险杠和散流器，底部是镀铬双排气尾管。这次大众没有发布内装照片，不过，大众表示，车厢内配备MIB 2信息娱乐系统。同时可提供预防碰撞主动制动系统，该系统在车辆碰撞发生时，通过安全气囊传感器触发，主动降低车速从而缓解撞击剩余的动能，减少对驾乘者的二次伤害。SE版本配备LED尾灯组，无钥匙进入（集成按键点火启动功能），自动双温区空调，倒车摄像头，六向电动可调驾驶员座椅，天窗，加热座椅，自动前大灯，雨量感应式雨刷，前后泊车距离控制和Fender音响系统。更高端的SEL增加了自适应双氙气前大灯，盲点探测，导航和HomeLink。不过，该车动力系统并未升级，2016款车型仍搭载那台2.0升TSI四缸涡轮增压汽油引擎，功率156千瓦/210马力，扭矩280牛米，搭配前轮驱动并标配六速手动变速器，可选装六速双离合器变速器。
2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLI goes official with a series of updates
Volkswagen of America is introducing the 2016 Jetta GLI bringing several moderate tweaks both inside and out.
Described as being the "sedan equivalent of the Golf GTI", the Jetta GLI has reached 2016 model year which brings a slightly updated front fascia with a different honeycomb grille and revised fog lights. The back of the car holds a modified bumper with a diffuser and there's also a pair of exhaust tips featuring a chrome finish.
Photos of the interior cabin have not been provided, but Volkswagen says the 2016 Jetta GLI comes with the MIB 2 infotainment system and will be available as standard with an automatic post-collision braking system. As the name suggests, it applies the brakes immediately after a collision is detected by the airbag sensors.
Upgrade to the SE version and you also get LED taillights, keyless access (with push-button start), automatic dual-zone climate control system, rearview camera, six-way power driver seat, sunroof and heated seats. This model also comes with automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, front & rear Park Distance Control and a Fender sound system.
The more expensive SEL trim adds adaptive bi-xenon headlights, blind spot detection (with rear traffic alert), navigation and HomeLink.
Volkswagen hasn't made any changes in the engine department so the 2016 Jetta GLI has the same TSI 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline unit developing 210 bhp (156 kW) and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque sent to the front wheels through either a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
