Renault KWID officially revealed

Renault has taken the wraps off the KWID which will be sold globally.

 

It rides on the CMF-A platform co-developed with Nissan and takes the shape of a hatchback with crossover influences such as the plastic body cladding and a jacked up suspension providing a generous 180mm ground clearance.

 

The A-segment model is 3.68 meters long and 1.58 meters wide and has a simple yet functional interior cabin with a seven-inch touchscreen display and a digital instrument. Without going into details, Renault says the KWID has the biggest interior space and trunk capacity in its class.

 

Motivation is provided by a tiny 0.8-liter engine teamed up with a 5-speed manual gearbox which will allow the vehicle to be "extremely well positioned in terms of fuel consumption."

 

The Renault KWID is scheduled to go on sale in India in the second half of 2015 and will cost between 3 and 4 lakhs (about $4,700 to $6,275).
