2016 Ford Mustang unveiled with new packages and options
Ford has taken the wraps off the 2016 Mustang.
Since the model was completely redesigned for 2015, this year's updates are relatively minor but include an assortment of new packages and styling options.
First up, the Mustang EcoBoost Premium can be equipped with a new Pony Package that includes a tri-bar pony emblem, side stripes, chrome window surrounds and unique 19-inch polished aluminum wheels.
Mustang GT buyers can order a new Black Accent Package which adds a black rear spoiler, black emblems and special 19-inch alloy wheels with a black finish.
If that isn't special enough, the Mustang GT's California Special Package boasts hood and side stripes as well as a rear spoiler. The package also adds a front splitter, a revised grille, a strut tower brace and 19-inch black aluminum wheels. Other notable highlights include Ebony leather/Miko suede seats, red contrast stitching and unique aluminum dashboard trim.
Moving on, the Mustang GT convertible gains a new Performance Package which features a larger radiator, a strut tower and "K" brace as well as a sport-tuned suspension with larger rear sway bars and heavy-duty front springs. The package also adds a limited-slip differential, a more aggressive front splitter and 19-inch black aluminum wheels with summer performance tires. Rounding out the changes are an engine-turned aluminum instrument panel with auxiliary gauges and a retuned stability control and steering system.
The 2016 Mustang can also be equipped with a new SYNC 3 infotainment system as well as a black roof and black or silver racing stripes.
