大众宣布将于明年投产高尔夫R400概念车的量产版。大众曾在去年的北京车展发布了造型前卫的高尔夫R400概念车，该车搭载一台2.0升四缸涡轮增压引擎，功率达到294千瓦/400马力。从那以后，有关该车将投产的消息就一直不绝于耳。现在大众动力系统主管Heinz-Jakob Neusser终于表示：“我们将很快看到高尔夫R400，目前大众正在开发这款车。”而量产版的功率还将进一步提升至309千瓦/420马力，虽然目前不清楚扭矩，但概念版的扭矩是450牛米并搭配4MOTION全轮驱动系统和六速DSG变速器，不过量产版可能会提供手动变速器。虽然功率提升，但量产版将采用类似高尔夫GTI和高尔夫R的低调外观，但将增加新的车身空力套装。新车将配备更大刹车盘，同时其他硬件也将获得升级以便与更强的功率搭配。大众最早将在今年法兰克福车展发布这款超级掀背车，该车随后将于今年底或明年初上市。预计在德国售价不会低于5万欧元（约合人民币33万元），而且不会限量生产。
Volkswagen Golf R400 production version confirmed, could be boosted to 420 PS
Volkswagen has announced the Golf R 400 concept will receive a production which will likely be out in 2016.
VW took the Beijing Motor Show by storm last year when they brought the radical Golf R 400 concept packing a 400 PS (294 kW) punch from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Since then, many reports emerged onto the web indicating the concept will actually receive a production version , and now VW Group powertrain chief Heinz-Jakob Neusser says "soon we will have the Golf R 400 - we will do this car." He went on to specify "we are in fact in development right now."
According to British magazine CAR , Volkswagen actually wants to increase the engine's output to as much as 420 PS (309 kW). There's no word about torque, but the concept had 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), with power sent to a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system via a six-speed DSG which will likely be replaced with something that hand handle the torque.
Despite the added power, it is believed the Golf R 420 (name not confirmed) will continue with the understated look just like the Golf GTI and Golf R, but with a new aerodynamic kit. It's also bound to receive bigger brakes to match the added oomph while additional hardware upgrades will be implemented to cope with the powerful engine.
Chances are the superhatch will be shown as early as September at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, with deliveries kicking off late this year or early 2016. It's expected to cost less than €50,000 (Golf R is €39,000) in Germany and apparently won't be a limited-run model.
