All future Volvo models will be available with a hybrid tech

According to a new report, all new models of Volvo launched from now will be offered in a hybrid version.

AutoExpress reports Volvo is surprised by the high interest in its plug-in XC90, which may influence the brand to offer hybrid technology for all its future models. “We were planning on a three-five per cent take rate of this model,” Volvo UK managing director Nick Connorhe told the magazine. “But our current rate on sold orders is over 20 per cent. We underestimated it.”

 

He explained the hybrid versions could be offered not only for the range-topping models, as with the XC90, but also for the entire lineup of a car. “As with XC90 the intention is that it is kept at the upper end of each model, but if it was to be something that grows considerably, we could do it across every model.”
