Porsche to launch a hybrid Macan in one or two years

A new report indicates Porsche will introduce a hybrid version of its Macan SUV in the near future.

 

Speaking to the IndianAutosBlog team at the Geneva Motor Show last month, Porsche CEO Matthias Muller confirmed the German brand is already working on the vehicle. “We’re working on it,” he commented. “We’ll have it in 1 or 2 years”.

 

There are no details about the hybrid system that will power the new Macan yet, but it will likely be similar to the one in the Cayenne S E-Hybrid. The system in question features a 3.0-liter engine and an electric motor for a combined output of 416 HP (306 kW) and 590 Nm (436 lb-ft) of torque.
