奔驰SUV部门副总裁Wolf Dieter-Kurz近日透露,奔驰考虑推出迈巴赫品牌SUV。宾利正准备推出其首款SUV ‘Bentayga”,而劳斯莱斯也正在开发其首款SUV车型。因此奔驰此时发布这样的消息也不足为怪。这款迈巴赫品牌SUV将是一款与劳斯莱斯和宾利SUV同级的超豪华车型。迈巴赫GLS级将基于GLS，但将采用专属格栅，轮圈和独特车标，同时比GLS级车型拥有更长的轴距，车内设计也将更加豪华。动力方面，迈巴赫GLS级将会搭载来源于奔驰GLS级的动力系统，同时还将推出混动版车型，其核心部件取自GLE 500e。

 

Mercedes hints again at Maybach SUV

Mercedes-Benz vice-president of SUVs Wolf Dieter-Kurz said a Maybach-branded SUV is under consideration.

 

Bentley is preparing to launch its first ever SUV called "Bentayga" while Rolls-Royce is also working on their first high-riding model so it shouldn't come as a surprise that Daimler is analyzing the prospects of coming out with an ultra-luxurious SUV. Likely to be green-lighted for production, the model in question will be part of the Mercedes-Maybach division and is going to be based on the GLS (GL facelift).

 

It will join the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and according to Wolf Dieter-Kurz it will likely be offered as a hybrid, probably with an adaptation of the hardware found inside the GLE 500e. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS will likely come with a longer wheelbase granting a more spacious interior cabin which should be even more luxurious compared to the regular GLS. On the outside, expect a Maybach-specific grille, wheels and the compulsory badges.
