2016 Volkswagen Tiguan to have familiar proportions, be 2.2 inches longer
New details are starting to emerge about the 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan as Automotive News has been shown the production model during a visit to the company's design studio.
According to AN's Ryan Beene, the redesigned Tiguan will have familiar proportions despite being 2.2 inches longer than its predecessor. The crossover will also have a shorter front overhang, rounded wheel arches and wrap-around taillights.
The company is also working on a long-wheelbase variant that is 184.6 inches long. It will reportedly be 7.9 inches longer than the standard model and arrive in the United States in 2017.
