Porsche confirms next-gen Panamera coming in second half of 2016
Porsche CEO has announced the second generation Panamera will be launched in the second half of 2016.
When asked by the IndianAutosBlog team about the arrival date for the new Panamera at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Matthias Muller said “I suppose in the second half of 2016”. He also hinted the design of the exclusive vehicle will be evolutionary and will be based on the current model, as previous spy photos have revealed. “It is more or less the same design language, you’ll recognize him as a Panamera... it’ll be of a better package, and some details will be more modern of course.”
The new Panamera is expected to be based on the MSB platform. Thanks to the use of aluminum and high-strength steel, the car will be around 90 kg (200 lbs) lighter than its predecessor. New V6 and V8 engines will likely be introduced and they will offer more power and better fuel economy than the current lineup.
