Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe to debut in Frankfurt

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is set to make its world debut during the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.

 

Until now it was believed the vehicle will be introduced in December, but a new report from Autocar says the car is coming to the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

 

According to our source, the new two-door model will be even “sleeker” than the S-Class Coupe with a “more beautiful design”, while also being “even better to drive than it looks”, as design chief Gorden Wagener explains. The new Coupe will become the third member of the C-Class family after the sedan and the estate. Following the Coupe debut, Mercedes will also reveal and a convertible version of the model.

 

Most likely the engine options of the C-Class Coupe will be identical with the standard C-Class, which means a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit with 241 bhp (179 kW) and a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 329 bhp (245 kW) will be available. The range-topping AMG version will get a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine with no less than 469 bhp (350 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm).
