MINI近日透露,由于轿跑车和敞篷跑车销量太低,未来将不再生产这两种车型。MINI调整车型阵容，未来将生产三门和五门掀背车、Clubman, Countryman和敞篷车。其中新一代Clubman将在9月法兰克福车展首次亮相，而新一代Countryman则将作为2017款车型于明年发布。除了这五种车型外，宝马目前还正在与丰田开发MINI第六款车型——MINI Minor，这将是一款入门级车型。

 

MINI announces plans to axe the Coupe and Roadster

MINI has disclosed plans to terminate production of the Coupe and Roadster, following an announcement made last November by MINI USA Product Planning Manager Patrick McKenna.

 

We knew this was coming as rumors regarding the demise of the two slow-selling MINIs have been circulating the web for almost a year and the company’s person in charge of US-spec models announced back in November the models will get the axe in 2015, without any signs of a replacements. The Paceman could suffer the same fate as most likely MINI will kill the model later this year.

 

MINI’s revised lineup will be reduced to only five models: the 3- and 5-door hatches, Clubman, Countryman and the Convertible. The latter was recently leaked in a batch of patent drawings and it should be out just in time for the summer. It will be followed by the new Clubman possibly in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show while the new Countryman should be out next year as a 2017MY.

 

These five cars are characterized by MINI as being "superhero" models and could be joined by a sixth member in the form of an entry-level MINI Minor developed by BMW in collaboration with Toyota.
