2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen priced from $21,395
Volkswagen of America has released full pricing details for the 2015 Golf SportWagen, following last May's announcement.
The cheapest version money can buy is the Golf SportWagen TSI S priced at $21,395 equipped with a 170 bhp & 200 lb-ft four-cylinder 1.8 TSI engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. It rides on 15-inch alloys and comes with a generous list of standard equipment including leatherette seating surfaces, manual lumbar seat adjustment, Bluetooth connectivity, touchscreen display with support for USB, iPod and Sirius XM satellite radio. Also standard are the power windows & door locks and air conditioning while an automatic gearbox is optionally offered for an extra $1,100.
Upgrade to the $26,995 Golf SportWagen TSI SE available only with a six-speed automatic gearbox and you get 17-inch rims, front fog lights, panoramic sunroof, keyless access with push button start and a rearview camera. This variant also boasts a Fender sound system and can be optionally configured with a $995 lighting package bringing adaptive bi-xenon headlights with LED DRLs, ambient interior lighting and LED interior reading lights. There's also an optional $695 driver assistance package encompassing front & rear park distance control and forward collision warning system.
The Golf SportWagen TSI SEL begins at $29,345 and adds 18-inch alloys, chrome roof rails, navigation, climatronic AC and 12-way power driver's seat. The two aforementioned optional packages are available at the same price.
If you prefer diesels, there's a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 150 bhp & 236 lb-ft available in the Golf SportWagen TDI S from $24,595, followed by the TDI SE at $27,995 and the TDI SEL from $30,345. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard but Volkswagen is offering an optional dual-clutch automatic gearbox for all three diesel versions at an extra $1,100.
The 2015MY Volkswagen Golf SportWagen is scheduled to reach U.S. dealerships in April.
