Mysterious Subaru prototype spied, is it a mule for the next Impreza
A mysterious Subaru prototype has been spied undergoing testing in the United States.
Caught wearing a modified XV Crosstrek body, the prototype has a new hood and a front fascia from a WRX. There doesn't appear to be any other styling changes - aside from a fuel door cut out - so that raises a number of questions about what the prototype is.
While the front fascia seems to suggest the car could be a high-performance variant, it is believed to be a mule for the next-generation Impreza which is due next year. That's far from official at this point but the company has already confirmed the next Impreza will ride on the new Subaru Global Platform (SGP) and have sportier styling.
