讴歌将为ILX提供动力更强劲涡轮增压引擎。讴歌产品规划负责人Gary Robinson近日表示，ILX未来将搭载本田生产的四缸涡轮增压引擎。而本田今年晚些时候将在俄亥俄州Anna投产新的VTEC Turbo引擎，功率超过223千瓦/300马力。不过，为了能容纳新的涡轮增压引擎，需要对车辆进行重新设计，因此现行版车型预计不太可能搭载该引擎，只能等下代车型了。
Acura could offer a turbocharged ILX with 300+ bhp
The Acura ILX recently received a much needed power boost but a new report is indicating the car could eventually offer a turbocharged engine.
Speaking to Car & Driver, Acura product planner Gary Robinson hinted the model could gain a turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the future. Robinson was coy on specifics but said "Acura is always going to get the best engines Honda makes" and "... a 2.0-liter turbo is more of a must-have in the luxury world than it is in the mainstream world."
Honda has been relatively tip-lipped about their upcoming VTEC Turbo engines but they will be introduced later this year and be built at the company's plant in Anna, Ohio. There's no word on specifications but the magazine is reporting one of the engines could produce more than 300 bhp (223 kW).
Unfortunately, a high-performance ILX is likely a ways off as Robinson suggested the model would need to be reengineered to accommodate the turbocharged engine. This likely means the engine won't be offered in the ILX until the next-generation model arrives later this decade.
