Jaguar XF R-Sport Black launched with more equipment for less money

Jaguar has introduced a set of final changes for the outgoing XF, including a new R-Sport Black version.

 

Launched in 2007, the first generation XF (codenamed X250) is on its way to a well-deserved retirement and Jaguar is sending off the mid-size model with an R-Sport Black variant which costs ￡2,100 more than the regular R-Sport but adds ￡8,700 worth of goodies. It's being offered with five exterior paints from ￡38,350 (￡40,850 Sportbrake) with 20-inch black Kalimnos alloy wheels, sports seats with 18-way memory function, full bond-grain leather upholstery and a 770-watt Meridian surround sound system.

 

Power comes exclusively from a four-cylinder, 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine developing 200 HP (147 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque channeled to the wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It allows the sedan to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 8.5 seconds before topping out at 140 mph (225 km/h) whereas the Sportbrake runs the sprint in 8.8 seconds and hits 134 mph (214 km/h).

 

Jaguar will be offering from now on the winter comfort and parking packages as standard across the entire range and these bring heated seats, heated windscreen, front parking sensors and a rearview camera.
