2016 Porsche Panamera shows off its sleeker shape in new spy photos
The Porsche Panamera has never been a looker but the company is hoping to improve that with the next-generation model which was recently caught undergoing cold weather testing.
While the prototype looks instantly recognizable, designers have given the model more curvaceous body work and a redesigned rear end. We can also see an evolutionary front fascia, ventilated front fenders and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.
Porsche has remained relatively tight-lipped about the model but it is expected to ride on the MSB platform that features a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel. Nothing is official but previous reports have suggested the platform could enable the Panamera to weigh up to 200 lbs (91 kg) less than its predecessor.
Engine options also remain unconfirmed but Porsche chief engineer Wolfgang Hatz has previously suggested the car will be offered with new V6 and V8 engines. There's no word on specifications but the engines are expected to more powerful than their predecessors.
The second-generation Porsche Panamera will be built in Leipzig, Germany in 2016 so expect to learn more in the coming months.
