今年对于奔驰而言是真正的“SUV之年”，车厂在北美车展宣布，包括ML/GL改款车，GLE，甚至GLC等新车都将于今年发布。除了在本届北美车展亮相的GLE轿跑车之外，在4月的纽约车展奔驰还将发布GLE，该车基本上基于ML改款车，除了标准版本还将提供插电混动版。在今年晚些时候，奔驰还将发布GL级改款车，新车将被命名为“GLS”，在这款车生命周期后半程将增加奔驰-迈巴赫品牌的超豪华版本。而更小的GLK也将于今年进行改款，新车也将更名为“GLC”以便能更好的体现该车与C级车的渊源，就像GLE与E级车，GLS与S级车之间的关联一样。所有这三款车目前都在进行测试，预计新车外观不会有根本性的改变，只是进行小改款。

 

Mercedes-Benz announces GLE and GLS are coming this year, GLC also possible

Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to reveal the facelifted versions of ML and GL this year.

 

Described by the Germans as being the "year of the SUV", 2015 represents Daimler's crossover & SUV assault as aside from the GLE Coupe showcased these days in Detroit, several other high-riding models are in the pipeline. The first of the bunch will be the "GLE", basically a facelifted ML which will be presented early April at NYIAS where it will also show its green credentials thanks to a plug-in hybrid system.

 

"Later this year," Mercedes-Benz will also introduce a facelift for the GL-Class which will be commercialized as the "GLS". Later during the car's lifespan, there are some chances of seeing a more luxurious version part of the newly formed Mercedes-Maybach division which for now only includes a higher-end S-Class.

 

The smaller GLK crossover will probably get a refresh this year as well which will come bundled with the name "GLC" to better represent the car's relation in terms of size with the C-Class, just like the GLE & E-Class and GLS & S-Class duos.

 

All three models have already been spied undergoing testing and despite their new designations, expect only a few modest styling revisions rather than significant design tweaks which would have been more suitable for the planned name change.
