Smart will introduce the ForTwo Cabrio will be introduce later this year.

 

While the model will be heavily influenced by the standard ForTwo, Auto Motor und Sport says the carbio's tridion safety cell is now strong enough that it will no longer require an unsightly support brace. This is a relatively minor change but it should help the car's top down appearance.

 

Little else is known about the model but it will likely feature a variety of familiar engines including a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol with outputs of 60 PS (45 kW) and 71 PS (52 kW) as well as a turbocharged 0.9-liter engine with 90 PS (66 kW) and 135 Nm (99 lb-ft) of torque.

 

If everything pans out, the model will go on sale in 2016 and cost approximately €14,000.
