Hyundai i30 Turbo lands in Geneva with 186 HP
Hyundai has introduced the turbocharged i30 this week at the 85th Geneva Motor Show.
Launched alongside the facelifted i30 range, the new range-topping version will be available both as a three- and five-door model with a more aggressive body, dual exhaust, retuned suspension and 18-inch alloys. It also has bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights while the braking system has been upgraded to 300mm front ventilated discs and 284mm solid rear discs.
Matching the enhanced looks is a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine developing 186 HP (137 kW) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) transferred to the front axle via a 6-speed manual transmission. It grants the i30 Turbo with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 8 seconds and a 136 mph (219 km/h) top speed.
There are some changes inside the cabin as well where the turbocharged i30 has gained sports front seats with contrasting stitching, along with black headlining and a revised instrument cluster.
As a final note, it should be mentioned sister car Kia cee'd GT / pro cee'd is more powerful (at 204 HP) as well quicker since it runs the sprint in 7.7 seconds and can do 143 mph (230 km/h).
