Hyundai i20 Coupe brings its sleek body to Geneva
After an online reveal last December, the Hyundai i20 Coupe has arrived to the Geneva Motor Show as the company's first ever B-segment three-door model.
It looks considerably different than the five-door hatchback and it's not only because it lacks rear doors but also due to being 25mm lower. In addition, it has more raked pillars and a prominent rear-mounted spoiler while the taillights are slightly bigger. Hyundai has added new 17-inch wheels, a Tangerine Orange exterior paint scheme while the trunk capacity has increased by 10 liters to 336 liters compared to the hatch.
Power comes from the same array of engines offered in the five-door model, including 84 HP & 122 Nm 1.25-liter and 100 HP & 134 Nm 1.4-liter gasoline units as well as 75 HP & 180 Nm 1.1-liter and 90 HP & 240 Nm 1.4-liter diesels. A five-speed manual works with the lesser gasoline engine while all the others are paired to a six-speed 'box. Hyundai is also providing an optional four-speed automatic for the 1.4-liter gasoline motor.
Later this year, the Hyundai i20 Coupe will get a three-cylinder 1.0-liter gasoline turbocharged engine, most likely the unit powering the Kia cee'd GT Line where it develops 120 HP & 172 Nm.
