Seat brings 280 HP Leon ST CUPRA to Geneva

SEAT has introduced the Leon ST CUPRA in Geneva where it's being showcased alongside the 20V20 crossover concept.

 

The hot wagon from Spain will be available just like its coupe and hatchback brothers in two power flavors: 265 HP (195 kW) and 280 HP (206 kW) coming from a four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine which in both cases generates 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. The fastest of the bunch will obviously be the 280 HP version when equipped with the optional DSG transmission which will require 6 seconds to 62 mph (100 km/h). If you prefer switching gears yourself, the manual version does the sprint in 6.1 seconds, with both configurations being electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h). The 265 HP version is 0.1s slower in the sprint, so the DSG model hits 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds with the DSG and in 6.2s with the manual.

 

Aside from receiving a slightly more aggressive body, the Seat Leon ST CUPRA also benefits from 18-inch (19-inch for the "280" version) alloy wheels and a Dynamic Chassis Control system which tweaks the chassis characteristics in a matter of milliseconds to suit the road conditions. Other goodies on the menu include a front-axle differential lock, full LED headlights & taillights, Media System Plus infotainment system, LED ambient lighting while the “280” model also gets a roof-mounted spoiler.

 

The Seat Leon ST CUPRA lineup is scheduled to hit dealerships in the following months.
