Porsche Cayman GT4 unveiled in Geneva

Porsche has introduced the Cayman GT4 at the Geneva Motor Show where it's on display alongside the 911 GT3 RS.

 

Unlocking the full potential of the Cayman, this new GT4 version has been long awaited by fans of the model but obviously it doesn't come cheap as pricing kicks off in Germany at €85,779 and from $84,600 in United States. In return for this serious chunk of change, customers will be rewarded with a flat-six 3.8-liter engine developing 385 HP (283 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) transferred to the rear axle via a six-speed manual transmission only.

 

This hardcore Cayman needs 4.4 seconds to accomplish the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) journey and 14.5 seconds from a standstill to 124 mph (200 km/h) before hitting a maximum speed of 183 mph (295 km/h). It stops efficiently thanks to a 911 GT3-sourced braking system while the beefier body hosts larger vents, beefier bumpers and spoilers along with a fixed rear wing.

 

Lowered by 30mm, the Porsche Cayman GT4 has managed to lap the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 40 seconds and will reach dealerships at the end of the month. At an additional cost, clients will be able to add carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber reinforced plastic seats as well as Sport Chrono and Club Sport packages.
