SsangYong celebrates 60th anniversary with special editions Korando and Rexton W
SsangYong is celebrating its 60th anniversary by launching special editions of the Korando and Rexton W in UK.
South Korea's oldest and fourth biggest automaker has reached its diamond anniversary and on this occasion the company is introducing a special edition of the Giugiaro-designed Korando. It can be distinguished by its modestly revised front fascia featuring a slimmer black mesh grille along with LED daytime running lights and projector lights. Photos of the interior have not been provided but SsangYong says this special Korando has a "completely redesigned dashboard" and also comes with reduced NVH levels.
It's based on the ELX4 version and has a Euro 5-compliant 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo engine which in the regular Korando is offered with 149 PS (109 kW) and 181 PS (133 kW). Other features include 18-inch diamond-cut wheels, chrome detailing, rear spoiler and a pearl white lily metallic paint.
Prices start at 21,245 GBP for the manual model and from 22,745 GBP for the automatic.
As for the Rexton W, this one comes with a Euro 5-compliant 4-cylinder 2.0-liter e-XDi200 turbodiesel engine rated at 155 PS (114 kW) and 360 Nm (265 lb-ft). It's based on the EX trim but adds front parking sensors, DAB sat-nav, heated front & rear seats, electric sunroof, power adjustable passenger seat and the same body hue as the Korando.
Fitted with the six-speed manual gearbox, the Rexton W 60th anniversary edition kicks off at 25,995 GBP whereas the version equipped with a Mercedes-Benz T-Tronic five-speed automatic transmission begins at 27,495 GBP.
