According to a recent report, the AMG GT will be offered exclusively with V8 engines.

Mercedes has remained relatively coy about the model but AMG CEO Tobias Moers reportedly told GT Spirit "There won’t be a V6 version of the AMG GT." This contradicts earlier rumors which suggested the model could eventually gain an entry-level variant with a V6 engine.

As we have previously reported, the AMG GT will be introduced later this year and compete with the Porsche 911. The model is expected to be powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that could have outputs of approximately 485 HP (357 kW) and 550 HP (404 kW). Moers has also hinted we can expect a range-topping Black Series variant as well as "many, many more variants."
