2015 Jaguar XE spied wearing a production body for the first time

The 2015 Jaguar XE has been spied undergoing cold weather testing in Northern Sweden.

Caught wearing a production body for the first time, the XE has a familiar shape that echoes the XF and XJ. The styling details are hard to make out but we can see a prominent grille, aerodynamic side skirts and a distinctive roofline that is heavily disguised.

Under the hood, we can expect an assortment of four-cylinder "Ingenium" petrol and diesel engines. Jaguar has been coy on specifics but confirmed the engines will offer a "wide range of capacities and output, all delivering inspirational performance and offering the latest innovations in fuel-efficient technologies without sacrificing drivability."More specifically Jaguar says the engines will allow for speeds in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph) and CO2 emissions lower than 100 g/km.

The Jaguar XE will be unveiled later this year and a global rollout is scheduled for mid-2015.
