2015 MINI Clubman spied testing together with current version
The second generation of the MINI Clubman has been spied testing on a frozen lake in Sweden together with the outgoing variant.
MINI shouldn't even bother camouflaging prototypes of the second-gen Clubman since it will look a lot like the concept currently being exhibited in Geneva. Set to arrive in the following months as a 2015 model year, the all-new Clubman will be considerably larger than its predecessor and will feature conventional front-hinged rear doors. MINI has decided to keep the split rear door as they say it makes loading cargo a lot easier.
To give you an idea about how much the car has grown in size, the concept currently exhibited at the Swiss auto show is 26 cm longer and 17 cm wider than the first-gen production model. Engine lineup will most likely be taken from the regular model and should include 134 bhp 3-cylinder 1.5-liter and 189 bhp 4-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline engines along with a 3-cylinder 1.5-liter diesel outputting 114 bhp (85 kW).
MINI will probably show the second-gen Clubman this October at the Paris Motor Show.
