2016 Chevrolet Volt coming next year with an evolutionary design

According to a recent report, Chevrolet will introduce the next-generation Volt in 2015.

 

Citing sources familiar with the matter, Edmunds is reporting the 2016 Volt will ride on a new front-drive platform and have an evolutionary design that is instantly recognizable. As one source explained, it's "different, but not drastically different."

 

Little else is known about the model but former GM CEO Dan Akerson has said it will have a "significantly" improved electric-only range that could be as high as 50-60 miles (80-96 km). The model will also be lighter and cheaper than the current model which starts at $34,995.
