Jeep CEO says a larger model is in the work, could be called the Grand Wagoneer
Jeep CEO Mike Manley has revealed the company's next model will be a replacement for the defunct Commander.
Speaking to Autocar, Manley said "Above the Grand Cherokee there is an opportunity, especially in the US, China and the Middle East. That’s where we’ll go next and the natural name is Grand Wagoneer.” Manley didn't have much else to say about the model but he hinted it won't be offered in Europe due to its size.
The executive also said the company could offer a model smaller than the Renegade but it's not in the cards at the moment. Manley went on to say there is a growing demand for a hybrid or electric model but the company won't respond until there is enough to demand to build a business case for an eco-friendly Jeep.
