菲亚特宣布将对2014款500进行多项升级,新车将在即将开幕的第84届日内瓦车展首次亮相。第一项大幅改变是额外提供一台0.9升TwinAir Turbo引擎，在运动模式下最大功率77千瓦/105马力@5500转/分，扭矩145牛米@2000转/分。而在经济模式下，功率为72千瓦/98马力，扭矩120牛米。这台涡轮增压引擎配备了启停系统，在经济模式下车辆百公里油耗4.2升，每公里二氧化碳排放量99克。这台省油但动力不弱的引擎可以让菲亚特500在经济模式在百公里提速时间仅需10秒，最高时速188公里。另外这款车标配后轮盘式制动。除了增加新引擎外，2014款车型还提供了Cult版本，它基于现行的Lounge版本，但增加了更多配置，包括16英寸合金轮圈，黑色抛光车顶，镀铬车身装饰，镀铬或黑色抛光后视镜盖，驻车传感器和黑色抛光尾灯组边框。车厢内配备新的7英寸TFT显示屏和黑色/红色/褐色真皮座椅。更重要的是，2014款菲亚特500还将增加两种车身颜色，新的合金轮圈，真皮内饰以及织物座椅，以便能在下一代500 2016年上市之前保持足够的新鲜感。
2014 Fiat 500 gains 105 HP TwinAir engine and Cult version
Fiat has announced a number of updates for the 2014MY 500 which will be showcased next week at the 84th Geneva Motor Show.
The first major novelty is the addition of a 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo engine delivering 105 HP (77 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 107 lb-ft (145 Nm) of torque at 2,000 rpm in Sport mode. When running in Eco mode, the motor is configured to provide 98 HP (72 kW) and 89 lb-ft (120 Nm).
This turbocharged engine comes equipped with a start/stop system and in eco mode allows the model to return 55 mpg US (67 mpg UK or 4.2 liters / 100 km) with CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km. The frugal yet punchy engine enables the eco mode-running Fiat 500 to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 10 seconds before topping out at 117 mph (188 km/h).
It should be noted the 105 HP TwinAir-powered Fiat 500 will be offered as standard with rear disc brakes.
Aside from receiving a new engine, the 2014 model year also welcomes a Cult specification based on the existing Lounge but with more goodies such as fresh 16-inch alloys, a glossy black roof panel, chrome exterior detailing, chrome or glossy black door mirror covers, rear parking sensors and a glossy black surround for the taillights. For the interior Fiat has installed a new seven-inch TFT instrument panel and black/red/tobacco leather seats.
Moreover, the 2014 Fiat 500 will be available with two extra body colors, new alloy wheel designs, leather upholsteries as well as seat fabrics to keep the model fresh until the next generation which is rumored to come out in 2016.
