2016 Kia Sorento spied in Scandinavia

The 2016 Kia Sorento has been spied undergoing testing alongside the Hyundai iX25 in Scandinavia.

 

Dressed in heavy camouflage, the redesigned crossover sports an oval grille which mimics the one used on the Cadenza and K900. The model has also been equipped with sweptback headlights, an upward sweeping beltline and a more stylish greenhouse.

 

Styling changes aside, the biggest change will likely be the increased dimensions which will pay huge dividends to second and third row passengers.

 

Engine options are expected to carryover so expect choices to include a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a 3.3-liter V6 with minor modifications for improved performance and reduced fuel consumption. Speaking of the latter, there could be a Sorento Hybrid with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is backed by an electric motor and a 47 kW lithium polymer battery.
