2015 Smart ForTwo spied showing new details

Our spies have snapped some new pictures of the 2015 Smart ForTwo.

 

Set to be unveiled later this year, the city car has a familiar design but adopts a larger grille and LED-infused headlights. The model has also been equipped with a stylish rear end that has a tailgate-mounted spoiler and circular taillights.

Smart has remained coy on technical specifications but the model will ride on a new architecture that is shared with the Renault Twingo. As a result, it will retain its rear-engine and rear-wheel drive layout.

 

Engine options remain unconfirmed but previous reports have indicated there could be a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol with outputs of 84 bhp (63 kW) and 104 bhp (77 kW). We can also expect another ElectricDrive variant with approximately 87 bhp (65 kW).
